Discover your inner creative soul with this beginner needle felting kit. Learn how to make a needle felted Whale by following our detailed photo instructions. Everything you need is in the kit, plus you can add a needle felting foam work surface* if needed when ordering.
Needle felting is an incredibly therapeutic craft and it is really easy to learn the basics. You get the wool into the shape you want such as a ball, then you stab it multiple times with the barbed needles. The needles push the fibres together felting them into place and creating a solid piece. You can then add details and join pieces together all using the felting needles (no sewing!) It sounds like magic but it really works!
I have been teaching needle felting for over 11 years now and have put all my knowledge and expertise into the photo step-by-step instructions meaning you can’t go wrong!
Please note this kit contains very sharp needles and adult supervision is recommended for anyone below 14 years of age.

You will Also Need
- Foam working surface* (or add one to your order above!)
- Tea and biscuits (optional!)
- *The foam is needed to work on in order to protect your table or lap from the sharp needles! You also use it to help shape pieces and to make flat sections such as ears or wings. One piece will last you at least 20 projects so you only need to buy one (hence why it’s an add on and not included with every kit!)
You will learn
All the needle felting basics - how to split the wool, how to shape the wool, how to use the needles to felt and sculpt, how to join pieces, how to make 3D and flat shapes and how to add details.
